Niagara Falls USA is home to a burgeoning wine region in a truly unique atmosphere. Discover how the world's most famous waterfall plays a key role in an emerging wine region. Nestled between one of the 5 Great Lakes and the Niagara Escarpment, the Niagara Region provides a rare combination of weather, geology, geography and human ingenuity that makes for superb wines and vineyards! It is now home to close to two dozen wineries, breweries, and cideries.
Niagara Falls USA is one of the few regions in the world that produces ice wine, which is made from hardy, cold-weather grapes left to freeze on the vine, resulting in a sweet dessert wine that’s hard to find anywhere else. The grapes most commonly used to produce ice wine are Riesling, Vidal and Cabernet Franc.
We will take your group on a fun tour of different wineries on the Niagara Trail. We can offer 3-4 wineries with a dinner option in Lewiston NY. This is great for couples, wedding parties or just a few friends looking for a FUN time. Our WINE TOURS are geared towards groups between 2, 4 and 6. Groups of 2 may be paired with another group of 2.
Along with the moderate climate, the character of the local soils, the dolomitic limestone of the Escarpment and the gravel silts near the Ontario lakeshore are ideal for growing vinifera grapes. European vinifera wines, including Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Vidal Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc, thrive in the region. In fact, the climate in some areas compares to that of the Alsace, a region of northeastern France, on the borders with Germany and Switzerland.
This beautiful countryside’s microclimate allows each winery on the trail to offer diverse selections of traditional vinifera style, native, late harvest and ice wines, as well as unique styles such as award-winning fruit wines, meads and ciders. There is something to please the palate of everyone along the Niagara Wine Trail, USA from the novice to the most discerning wine connoisseur.
Although the wine trail takes pride in this diversification, each member winery shares one common theme – a passion for producing only the highest quality beverage. This region has been recognized by prominent wine publications as producing the best Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Ice Wine and Syrah that New York has to offer, along with top scores by wine critics and international wine
competitions. This is the tour for your group to have fun and have a great outing that will build memories. Couple, anniversaries, wedding party, celebrations or whatever the reason book with us.
